The Brief
SGS UK wanted to establish and embed an active group of Mental Health First Aiders® (MHFAiders®) to support the mental wellbeing of employees across the UK business. They recognised some of the common pitfalls that come with training up MHFAiders® and wanted to “do it properly”.
The Solution
Innerfit guided the SGS HR and L&D team through a comprehensive process to recruit, train, and embed 22 MHFAIders® within the UK business:
Activities

RECRUIT
- Support promoting the role to find the right people
- Template interview questions to help assess and fill places
- An Innerfit hosted ‘Your Guide to the Role’ webinar to pre- screen applicants and offer an opportunity to ‘opt-out’

TRAIN
- Delivery of the 2-day MHFAider training
- Multiple cohorts of certified MFAiders trained to identify and understand how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue
- Extra time spent answering delegates’ questions

EMBED
- Tactics and guidance for the central team to help create and embed the MHFAider network
- Extra resources and guidance for MHFAiders to be proactive and promote themselves internally
